In September/October 2010 Luxury Home Design’s managing editor, Kate St James is again escorting a tour for building designers, architects, interior designers and design industry professionals to Italy and you are invited as one of a select group to join us.
The style capital of the world, Italy produces some of the World’s most sought after design including furniture, textiles, lighting, ceramics, glass and statuary. And for a select group of only 20 designers and architects, all this and more awaits on this very exclusive tour.
Your tour host Isabella Dusi, a former Australian interior designer, whose local knowledge and contacts in Italy have provided an itinerary unavailable on any other tour, designed the tour. The tour is escorted by Kate St James, FDIA interior designer and managing editor of Luxury Home Design magazine, an award-winning Australian home design publication.
On Italy by design we will visit architecture and design work in progress, restorations and historical sites; furniture, furnishings, textiles and factories. We will visit the Carrara marble mines, a superb hard stone mosaic workshop as well as galleries and more.
The tour has the sanction of the Italian Consulate, who, naturally, is pleased to promote potential trade with Australia. And it is aimed to satisfy the needs of those working in the field, but at the same time, the work/study program and leisure time program is designed so that it is also very attractive to their colleagues and friends who are interested in Italian design in all its facets.
Tour Extensions
Kate St James is delighted to offer you the opportunity to extend your Italy by Design tour by electing one or two fantastic options to enhance your work/holiday in Italy:
Option 1:
Extend your stay in Venice by two or three nights at the completion of the Italy by Design tour and take advantage of the opportunity to visit the International Biennale Architecture exhibition in Venice.
Option 2:
Extend your stay in Italy by travelling to Rome with your host Isabella Dusi, staying in Rome for three nights and discovering the Baroque architecture of Rome and a selection of the astonishing work of Baroque artistic master Michelangelo Merisi, known as il Caravaggio.
